Feelin' like solange

  

Last summer I had purchased these H&M trousers that instantly reminded me of Solange. From the print to the cut and style, these trousers just look like something Solange would wear. So of course I had to snatch them up! Solange most likely would of paired these with a bold color or printed top. But for my minimal taste/style I opted for a white Forever 21 bralette and a thrifted sheer lace top.

The Essentials // White Shirt dress

The white shirt dress is like a blank canvas - A play with accessories makes the difference between a look that is formal and sophisticated or casual cool. Whether alone or paired with statement pieces, the white shirt dress will give you a well put together look with little to no effort. For me its definitely an essential, definitely a staple, and you definitely need this in your closet. My white shirt dress is from the Gap and sandals + all other accessories are from Forever 21.

On the grid

 During my last thrifting adventure I experienced some major gridlock, my cart was filled with this subtle/minimal print. This is a trend that I've seen around for a while now and never actually got into or tried. The grid print is a nice alternative to your usual stripes or tartan. And it also gives off this mod, 60s feel, especially with an "A line" structure, like this top.

Masculine ou Feminine

Blazer, oxfords, fedora, today I'm taking a cue from the boys. Its always a fun twist to mix my more masculine pieces into my looks. And I must say I really am loving the sheer socks paired with oxfords, it adds a little cool element to the outfit. My fedora, socks and oxfords are from Forever 21 and my blazer was gifted to me by a good friend of mine.

Denim on Denim

For some spring is for florals [groundbreaking], ha ha, but for me its all about the denim on denim looks. Around this time of year I always find myself in a double denim situation. I always tend to wear a lighter wash of denim on the top and a dark wash on the bottom. I also never wear the same wash from head to toe, In order to pull of denim on denim looks there needs to be a balance. Double denim is just one of those trends that receives a lot of mixed feelings, either you love it or hate it. And obviously I love it.
 Also my summer break has officially started, so I'll be back to blogging on the regular,yay! I've also been on Twitter and Instagram a lot lately so you can catch me there as well! [stop by and say Hi]
